There have been several people asking about noise ordinances and lease clauses. Every tenant has the right to enjoy their premises free and clear of obnoxious noise. Sometimes a simple solution to having your neighbor quiet down is in fact calling the authorities and having them check the decibel level. If the levels are indeed too loud, the police can immediately pacify the problem or distraction. If the police continuously have to quiet down the neighbors one could make a strong argument that the noise is causing the Tenant to be constructively evicted from their property and that the Landlord has to assist the “abused” tenant, make the property less noisy, reduce the rent, or even allow the Tenant to leave.
